What customers say?

“ One of Hakata's most iconic beef tongue izakayas I stopped by Hakata on the last day of my trip and had some time until the evening, so I decided to do some Hakata daytime bar-hopping at "Sanhyaku-ho Yokocho (300 Steps from the Station)"! The first stop. While the exterior looks like an alley, the entrance is closed off, and the interior is divided into counter and table seating. My order... ・Tongue sashimi ・Lightly pickled Chinese cabbage ・Tanka's grilled beef tongue etc. Their specialty, "Tanka's grilled beef tongue," is a thick yet easy-to-eat skewer of beef tongue! This is a must-order The lightly pickled Chinese cabbage is served with the grilled beef tongue, and it's great not only as a palate cleanser but also as a great snack, so it's also great on its own! lol Since this was my first stop, I kept it light, but I'm sure I'll be returning to Hakata many times, so if I'm stuck for a daytime drink, I'll definitely stop by ”

“ I had a luxurious breakfast. First, I had it as is. Next, I wrapped it around vegetables. Then I had it with rice. This time I squeezed some lemon on it. Finally, I wrapped the grated yam rice in tongue. The grated yam is already flavored, so it's delicious on its own. Wrapping it in tongue makes it even more delicious...(º﹃º)Otameshi here ”

“ Good vibes for after office hour gathering! The ox tongue sukiyaki is exceptionally great! A must visit! ”

“ Beef tongue, sagari, kawa and fried rice. Hit these and you won't regret it. Amazing yakitori! ”

“ I ordered the 8,800 yen course. The 10-item boxed appetizer that came first was what you'd call "eye-catching"! Needless to say, the tongue skewers were absolutely delicious! After croquettes (I think they did that?), grilled oxtail, tongue shabu-shabu, fried rice, and dessert, I was stuffed. Since the service at the restaurant I went to yesterday was rated 1 star, I was really touched by the cute staff here, both in appearance and in their hospitality. The all-you-can-drink option was disappointing, as there was no explanation of the time limit, and even though I was still in the middle of my course meal, I suddenly found myself unable to order drinks, with no last order. ⤵︎ ”

“ I was shown to a private room, but the air conditioning was weak and it was so hot... I ended up drinking 10 highballs. Still, the specialty beef tongue skewers were thick and juicy, and the more I chewed, the more flavor I got, just as you'd expect from a specialty restaurant. The tongue sashimi and fried rice were also consistently delicious, so I ended up staying for a while. The food was so satisfying that I forgot about the heat! ”

“ A friend recommended this restaurant to me while I was sightseeing in Osaka. Their recommendation was tongue shabu-shabu, so I booked the "luxury course" for dinner, which included tongue shabu-shabu. Everything was delicious, but the beef tongue and beef hanging skewers were outstanding! The highly rated fried rice was also delicious. It was my first time trying grilled oxtail, and it was fragrant and flavorful. It was a very satisfying course, as I was able to enjoy both thickly sliced tongue like on a skewer, and thinly sliced tongue like in tongue shabu-shabu. ”

“ Tanka is famous for its beef tongue. I was on a business trip today and had a lot of luggage, so I felt like eating some meat and a quick drink by myself near Hakata Station, so I chose this place. I've been here before, and their skewered aged tongue is as juicy and delicious as ever, cooked to perfection. I couldn't help but order a skewer of aged tenderloin. This was also nicely crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside, and the more I chewed it, the more the distinctive aroma and juices of tenderloin filled my mouth. They have table seating, but they also have a large counter. I was able to get in easily around 18:30 that day without a reservation, but by 19:30 it was quite busy. It's all beef, so the prices are a bit high, but I didn't feel it was cheap or expensive. It didn't seem much different from eating similar food in Tokyo. Grilled tongue was 1800 yen, and tenderloin was 1500 yen, I think. The area is set up in a yokocho style with a variety of shops, making it the perfect place to grab a quick bite or to dine out at several different shops in Hakata Station. It was delicious as always. Thank you for the meal. ”
